The Goodnight Dream

The Goodnight Dream is the name of an electronic/pop music project consisting of one member, Josh Grandy. His voice and musical style can be roughly compared to that of Owl City, or when playing acoustically to that of Never Shout Never. Raised in the small town of Tenino, Washington, his musical career began in his late teens. After a severe car accident in September of 2008 left him hospitalized for weeks and temporarily crippled, he starting creating music with his laptop. Initial attempts gave way to the solo project "The Everlast" though copyright infringements forced a name change to The Goodnight Dream. In December of 2008, Josh's debut E.P. "In The Making" was released and made available on iTunes. Though progression to fame is a slow process, recent popularity has been gained through PureVolume.com, a website which allows bands/soloists of all sizes to create profiles and post music for fans to stream and/or download. As of October 2009, The Goodnight Dream ranked fifth on PureVolume.com in the category "Top Downloads," ahead of artists such as Kill Paradise, Anberlin, SAOSIN and The Ready Set. Additionally, in the category of "Top Songs", The Goodnight Dream's "Best I Ever Had" cover claimed tenth ahead of songs by artists such as Never Shout Never, The Almost, Say Anything, and All Time Low, only falling below select songs from bands including Owl City, Paramore, and New Found Glory.
