Choir of Mainstockheim

The choir of Mainstockheim - Young Harmony is a German choir, formed in 1999, and consists of about 40 children and teenagers. It has been very successful since then, including four Musicals and many concerts in Bavaria. In 2009 it celebrated its tenth jubilee.
History
Formation

The choir was formed in 1999. It started with about 20 kids, who were ready and willing to sing and represent their hometown Mainstockheim. The conductor, Uwe Ungerer, a German music teacher and composer, wanted something fresh in the town and formed the choir. The choir sings mostly secular music, classical music, pop music, film music and self-written songs. Since its formation, the choir has performed four self-composed musicals by Uwe Ungerer, titled "Das Wasser des Lebens" ("The Water of Life"), "Benny, Maja und die Zeitbanditen" ("Benny, Maja and the Time Bandits"), "Die Stimme der Muyen" ("The voice of Muyen") and "Traumtheater" ("Dream Theater"). All four musical had been very successful.
But the choir hasn't only seen success with its musicals, but also has had many successful concerts and gigs. The choir also performed alongside the Project Choir of Mainstockheim, named "Chorazon", in several concerts, which were successful as well.
Das Wasser des Lebens
The choir's first musical titled "Das Wasser des Lebens" ("The Water of Life") was first performed on Sunday, 28 October 2001. The musical was written by choirmaster Uwe Ungerer, and co-written by author Ralf Jungmeier. After its successful premiere, the musical was then performed three more times. Approximately 1000 were in attendance and enjoyed the performance immensely. Prior to the performance, a recording of the songs was made and the final CD, with an inlay with many pictures, was available for purchase after the performance.

The story is based on the fantasy novel "Dune - der Wüstenplanet" by Frank Herbert. The musical is about the knight Daron who wants to leave to find the "water of life". On his way, he mets many different characters.
Effort with second musical

After the huge success of the first musical "The Water of Life", chormaster and composer Uwe Ungerer decided to again put his pen to paper and create a second musical. The choir performed a few shows to promote their new musical and album. And after 2 years of work, the musical was finished. The musical was titled "Benny, Maja und die Zeitbanditen" ("Benny, Maja and the time bandits") and premiered on Sunday 26 October 2003.
The story is about Benny and his friend Maja, who are two children, whose parents haven't got enough time for them. On the 2003 Christmas Eve, four time-bandits appear and take them on a highly exciting trip.
Die Stimme der Muyen era
Three years after the second musical, Uwe Ungerer again composed a new musical, titled "Die Stimme der Muyen" ("The voice of Muyen"), with classical and Japanese influences as well as being slightly influenced by the film Spirited Away.
The Choir, as with the previous two musicals, recorded a CD. To promote the album, the choir performed several songs at different events. The first performance was on Sunday 29 October 2006. The musical was the biggest success of the choir, since its formation in 1999.
It's about opera singer Muyen, who gets the application to search the twin pair "Yin" and "Yang".
Between 2007 and 2008
After the unexpected success of "Die Stimme der Muyen", it was planned that there should be another show of the third musical in early 2007. The performance should take place in the cinema "Roxy Kino" domiciled in Kitzingen but because of a close-down of the cinema, the plans had been cancelled.
During 2007, the choir had numerous performances and gigs. It also joined the Project Choir Chorazon for its first concert "Amazing Grace". About 350 people watched the concert.
The kids shot a video for the song "Shake the Bottle" by Bob Chilcott back in summer 2008 for promotion. In early 2008, plans for a new musical had been discussed and during summer 2008 the rehearsals for the new project began.
New name and fourth Musical
In early may 2009, the choir celebrated its tenth anniversary. In addition, it reunited some former members and performed songs from their three musicals and some new stuff from their new musical. Furthermore it was looking for a name since the choir had not got a name for ten years. The name was published at the anniversary concert. The Choir of Mainstockheim is now named Young Harmony.
The premiere of the musical Traumtheater took place on Sunday 1 November 2009. The musical was quite successful as there have been four concerts.
The CD for "Traumtheater" was recorded in May and June 2009 and was released at the concerts in November 2009. The logo for Young Harmony was published in Summer 2011. It shows the name of the choir and a microphone around it.
