The Global Herald, (founded 2009), is a paywall-free online newspaper which carries the tag-line "News, Analysis & Reflection". Currently edited by Linda Scott, it differs from traditional news publications in that The Global Herald is principally directly written by "experts, academics and leaders", rather than by journalists. The Global Herald targets an international readership, but is based in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Originally headquartered in London, during 2013, the publication moved its address to North Yorkshire, UK. Key themes which recur in the publication are subjects such as Environment, International Sport, Rule of Law, Free Trade, Understanding of Religion, Human Rights, the Global Economy, Sustainability, Global Trends (e.g. Smart Cities, demographic change, food production). The Global Herald was originally formated in the style of a newspaper website, though in September/October 2013, the website underwent a change of format. Following the update, the website can be accessed on mobile and hand-held devices, the website changed from white to dark background,and output went from daily to a longer news-cycle format. The option to subscribe to The Global Herald by email was introduced at around this time. The focus shifted to more analysis, with less frequent news output. The Global Herald and TheGlobalHerald.com are owned by 24 Hour Trading Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
