History
Against The Grain Gourmet was founded in Brattleboro, Vermont, in the summer of 2005. Five years before, one of the founders, Tom Cain, had been diagnosed with Celiac Disease a disease requiring a gluten free diet. However, it wasn't until the Cains' teenage son was diagnosed that Nancy Cain began experimenting with different ingredients to create a gluten-free bread. Against The Grain Gourmet's ingredients come from local sources, and the company's founders claim that they "try to support our local economy in every way possible."
