New York Yankees Conspiracy Theories
|
The New York Yankees have won the World Series 26 times in the following years: 1923, 1927, 1928, 1932, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1941, 1943, 1947, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1958, 1961, 1962, 1977, 1978, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000. This is more championships than any other sports franchise in history. However if one looks closer at the years, one can analyze very strange things. The Yankees have won 22 pennants under Democrats, only 17 pennants under Republicans. Under Democratic Presidents, the Yankees have won 19 championships. Under Republican presidents, the Yankees have won 7 championships. It follows that the Yankees have a losing record in World Series under a Republican Commander-in-Chief, going 7-for-17. And yet under a Democratic Commander-in-chief, they have an outstanding .864 winning percentage in the World Series, going 19-for-22. Presidents of the United States of America during World Series Wins of the New York Yankees 1923: Calvin Coolidge (Republican) 1927: Calvin Coolidge (Republican) 1928: Calvin Coolidge (Republican) 1932: Herbert Hoover (Republican) 1936: FDR (Democrat) 1937: FDR (Democrat) 1938: FDR (Democrat) 1939: FDR (Democrat) 1941: FDR (Democrat) 1943: FDR (Democrat) 1947: Truman (Democrat) 1949: Truman (Democrat) 1950: Truman (Democrat) 1951: Truman (Democrat) 1952: Truman (Democrat) 1953: Eisenhower (Republican) 1956: Eisenhower (Republican) 1958: Eisenhower (Republican) 1961: JFK (Democrat) 1962: JFK (Democrat) No World Series for 15 years (During LBJ (Dem), Nixon (Rep), Ford (Rep)) 1977: Jimmy Carter (Democrat) 1978: Jimmy Carter (Democrat) No World Series for 16 years (During Reagan and Bush Sr.) 1996: Bill Clinton (Democrat) 1997: Clinton (Democrat) 1998: Clinton (Democrat) 1999: Clinton (Democrat) 2000: Clinton (Democrat) 2001-present: No World Series (All 8 have been under Bush Jr.'s reign of power) Which brings the totals to 19 world series under Democratic presidents and 7 under Republican presidents. Coincidence??? We shall see how the New York Yankees fare with President Obama in office now.
