The Fox Brothers

The Fox Brothers are an American Country and Christian Country/Gospel band, based in Williamson County, Tennessee (Leiper's Fork, Tennessee area) just west of Franklin, Tennessee and Nashville, Tennessee, led by brothers Randy, Roy, and Lynn Fox. The group also consists of bass harmony singer/lead guitarist Andrew Sovine (grandson of Country legend Red Sovine), and drummer, Brent Fox (son of Randy Fox). This group is considered by many to be the number one Christian Country Music group in America as they have received many accolades and awards for their work in the Christian Country/Inspirational Country Music genre. They are known for their close family harmony and for Roy Fox's onstage comedy antics. This group is very unique in their ability to entertain audiences with their style of humor, while at the same time keeping a serious tone to their music and message.
The three Fox brothers were born during the 1950's and are the only children born to their parents, Gilbert and Mildred Fox. Their mother was a homemaker and a fan of country music and gospel music. Although not a singer or musician herself, she helped her young sons to learn songs by writing down lyrics from popular country and gospel songs of the day and teaching melodies to them. Their father traded firewood for voice and singing lessons. He also paid 25 cents to Lynn's piano teacher for each 30 minute piano lesson he received.
Gilbert Fox was a minister and pastor. He also owned and operated a local lumber business and sawmill with his brother (T. C. Fox, Jr.) in which Roy, Randy, and Lynn worked during the summers and at other times while growing up, especially during their high school and college years of the 1970's. With a strong Christian guidance from their parents, along with the experience of working with their dad and uncle at the sawmill, the boys learned much about honesty and work ethic during their formative years.

All three boys were raised by both parents in a modest home near the crossroads of the rural Bending Chestnut Community and also located down the street from Fox's Grocery, a country store which was owned and operated by their grandparents. The brothers named their 2005 cd project "Fox's Grocery" to honor the legacy of their Fox grandparents and the little general store they began during the early 1920's. This store remains in operation today at the original location in the Bending Chestnut Community and is still owned and operated by descendents of the Fox family.
During their childhood and teenage years, the Fox Brothers performed at many local charity events and area churches in Middle Tennessee. They also did some recording. However, it was not until the early 1980's that their music was noticed by industry professionals. It was at that time that the brothers began to make some vital career decisions. In 1984, their first Southern Gospel Music single, "In The Middle Of The Night" reached the top twenty in the Singing News Top 80 Chart. In 1988, another song, "It's Time For Love" attained top ten success in the same chart. This popular song was re-released on their "Fox's Grocery" project.
The Fox Brothers are best known for their hits "Tending To Todd", "Squares", "Red, White & Blue", and "Like Ol' Hank". Since 1995, this group has had numerous number one Christian Country radio singles in The Christian Country Music charts including the Powersource Magazine Inspirational/Country Music Charts, - "Turn My Life Around" in 1996; "Red Top Mountain" in 1997; "Cradle Of Love" and "Say It Now" in 1998; "He Broke The Law" and "Backslider's Prayer" in 2000; "Yours" in 2001; "Red, White and Blue" and "In This House" in 2002; "Like Ol' Hank" in 2005; "If That Ain't Love" and "Tending To Todd" in 2006; and "Tell God Goodnight" in 2009.
