The Four Wheeler is a 2010 short film written, shot, edited, produced and directed by Mumbai based filmmaker Rahoul Daswani. It premiered in October 2010 at the Syracuse International Film Festival and is currently doing a round at several other international competitions. Synopsis The journey begins for Zed with migration to a Metro where he realizes his aspirations and his shortfalls. It continues only to be stopped short in his tracks. Then comes the pain that one feels when it is not the self, but the beloved is DE-idolized. To understand the darkness of pain, one must experience the blinding light of pleasure, of aspirations, of hope. Though cliched, it is true that life is a journey; and, as we move forward, we move across difficult terrain. For Zed to realize his true potential it requires the intervention of M.G. the death of a friend, and the re-birth of a prospective suitor. Thus, though, M.G. is the road beneath Zed’s wheels, it is his indestructibility that teaches Zed that pain is the only true measure of strength, and an end, though a change, is only a new beginning.
