The Ex Box Boys

The Ex Box Boys - Four member band whose songs initially revolved around gaming.
Formerly known as The XBox Boys after Microsoft’s game console, the Xbox 360, the band attracted gamers from all across the globe with their game-inspired rock music.

History

The Initial idea was to form a type of tribute band to Xbox, the game console that brought them together in the first place.

After several attempts in 2007 to win over Microsoft, it became clear that Microsoft did not want to be affiliated with or endorse The Xbox Boys, and told King 5 news in Seattle that “Microsoft is not equipped to monitor the band and its ongoing use of the brand”, so in 2008 the band morphed into The Ex Box Boys. Thus The Ex Box Boys are no longer associated with Microsoft in any shape or form.

The Ex Box Boys shot to number 2 on the MySpace charts in May 2007 and stayed at the top for more than two weeks. They had received almost 2 million downloads up until June 2008 when they abruptly removed the ability to buy their music due to the lack of sponsorship by Microsoft. They then re emerged as “The Ex Box Boys”.

They have retracted their music from Myspace until their first CD is scheduled to be released in January of 2009.

After a year long dispute with Microsoft as mentioned above they finally morphed away from their original concept with their songs now putting less emphasize on gaming. It was after this wise decision that the band started reaching higher levels all together and really started taking off.

In June 2008 Apple Hill Records rewarded The Ex Box Boys with a Platinum album for selling two million downloads via Itunes and are recieving up to 20,000 hits a day on their myspace page.

They received their first Platinum album From Apple Hill Records for sales of more than 2 million downloads of the song "Master Chief" apparently written about the Game Halo 3. Master Chief is the only song the ex box boys ever put out, the rest of the songs are awaiting the release of their first album "Chronicles of the Orb".
