Biography
Birth
The Demonstealer was born on June 19,1982 in Mumbai.
Early Life & Demonic Resurrection
Sahil got into Heavy metal when he was 14, after that he decided to form his own his band. His first band was Slaves Of Pain formed with his friend Suniel Thakker on Guitars and Sahil on vocals. They recorded some demos but were not able to find a drummer or a bassist. Sunil introduced Sahil to home recording with a drum machine, after which he started writing his own songs and decided to form his own band Demonic Resurrection. After two years of finding musicians Sahil met up with an old school friend Prashant and asked him to play with Demonic Resurrection. Aditya knew a drummer Yash whom he had just got into metal and Sahil asked Yash to join the band. The final member was a keyboard player Farhad whom Sahil had met in his Accounts tuition after many years. Demonic Resurrection was hence formed in March 2000 and their first gig took place on 6th April 2000. In 2010 after performing at ] in Norway, Demonic Resurrection was signed the the UK label Candlelight Records.
Reptilian Death
Reptilian Death is Sahil's solo Death Metal project where he released a song called 5 Easy Ways To Murder Someone and after that he managed to get a live band and wrote some new songs. Reptilian Death recorded all these songs and at the same time Sahil wrote a new 5 part song called 'Nursery Rhymes For Satans Children'. The new songs and the songs from 5 easy ways were all put onto 1 album called 'Total Annihilation' which was released in CD-R format in 2004. After a lot of lineup changes (which also included badmate Girish's death) Sahil reformed with a new lineup in 2006 after recording a new EP called Intestinal Feast which was featured on Defaced & Split released by Demonstealer Records. The EP had Sugath sharing the vocals with Sahil. On the first release Sahil did everything (guitars, vocals, drums, bass, samples). When playing live Sahil acts as the drummer/vocalist. But when Sugath joins in he takes over vocals.
Workshop
Workshop was born from an ESP Guitars workshop which Sahil conducted and he had Riju 'Rijunator' Dasgupta and Hamza 'Hamazoid' Kazi as his backing band. He wrote some songs for Workshop which the fellow bandmates liked and they did an impromptu college show. The gig was met with good response. After this for about a year Hamza kept trying to persude Sahil to jam and play seriously with this band and after a while he relented and decided to form Workshop but to do it completely professionally with the costumes, release an album, play live only when they were ready etc. Workshop debuted on 6th December 2008 and released their debut album Khooni Murga in May 2009 which was India's first CD+DVD combo.
