The European Geopolitical Forum

The European Geopolitical Forum (EGF) is an internet platform which serves as a knowledge hub on the pan-European geopolitical discussion. It was founded in early 2010 by well known experts of European geopolitics, who saw a certain vacuum in the information flow leading into the European geopolitical discussion. The EGF operates from its Brussels-based office.
Background
The European Geopolitical Forum (EGF) elaborates upon European policy makers' and other stakeholders' appreciation of European geopolitics from the perspective of the countries outside the European Union (EU). It is an independent internet platform which seeks to promote the European debate on geopolitics, by expanding the flow of information worldwide. It works with a wide range of affiliated experts, the majority of whom originate from the countries in the EU's external neighbourhood, in order to examine and debate core issues in the wider-European geopolitical context.
Thematic priorities
EGF promotes the European geopolitical debate through several types of information streams channeled primarily through the EGF website, including:
Workshops and seminars
Online (web) Forums
Briefings and position papers (EGF Editorial)
Conference participation and media outreach
Special studies and client reports
Aggregation of publications on geopolitics
Aggregation of European geopolitical news
Announcement of events relevant to wider-European geopolitics
The thematic orientation of EGF's debates primarily focus on the following discussion points:
External relations
Markets
Security
Energy
EGF's geographic area of coverage currently applies to EU neighbourhood and nearby regions of the former-Soviet Union, the Baltic and the Arctic, Turkey and the wider-Black Sea basin. EGF's geographic coverage is currently expanding into the Euro-Med zone and the inter-connected Middle East.
Affiliated Experts
EGF aims an objective, pan-European debate on geopolitics. In order to work towards this objective, EGF actively cooperates with a wide range of Affiliated Expert, coming principally from the countries in the EU’s external neighbourhood. EGF Affiliated Experts are actively engaged in examining and debating the core issues in the wider-European geopolitical context. They are well placed to elaborate upon the conventional appreciation of European geopolitics widely held by Europeans.
By this means, EGF encourages and effectively expands the flow of geopolitical information worldwide. Exchange of positions on geopolitics and interactivity between experts from east and west, south and north, is occupying center stage of the EGF project.
Bearing in mind its network of affiliated experts in the countries of the former-Soviet Union and other EU neighbours, EGF serves as a lead consultant on a diversity of projects related to the region's governance, governments and wider geopolitical milieu.
