TCI Network - The Competitiveness Institute is a global network for practitioners, policy makers, researchers and business leaders working towards improving competitiveness in regions and clusters. Founded in 1998 and based in Barcelona, Spain, TCI is a private non-profit, non-governmental organization financed through annual membership fees. TCI is open to members from all countries and currently consists of 2,500 members from more than 100 countries. Activities The TCI conferences bring together experts in the field and aim to be a forum to create progress in the practice of cluster development, regional competitiveness and innovation support. Since 1998, TCI hosts its annual conferences in different locations around the globe: Barcelona, Varese, Glasgow, Tucson, Cairns, Gothenburg, Ottawa, Hong Kong, Lyon, Portland, Cape Town, Jyväskylä, Delhi, and this year in Auckland, New Zealand. In addition to the global conferences, TCI responds to the members’ interests through the organization of thematic and regional conferences. Governance The Board of Directors governs, administers and represents the association. It is formed by: Alberto Pezzi (President), Christian Ketels (Secretary), Elisabeth Waelbroeck-Rocha (Treasurer), Pierre Bonnet, Jaime Echeverri, Klaus Haasis, Amit Kapoor, Nataliya Korchagina, Barnabas Nawangwe, Rauli Sorvari. The Board of Advisors is composed by relevant personalities from the world of politics, business and international institutions who played an important role in the application of cluster initiatives: Antoni Subirà (Chairman), Tea Petrin (Vice Chairman), Sergio Arzeni, Michael Best, Bob Breault, Emiliano Duch, Michael J. Enright, Ifor Ffowcs-Williams, Piero Formica, Yves Guyon, Alec Hansen, Eric Hansen, Kenneth Lanza, Andy McDonald, Michael Porter, Frederic Richard, Hubert Schmitz, Örjan Sölvell.
