The Cat Master is the first novel written by Bonnie Pemberton. Published in 2007 by Marshall Cavendish, the book won the 2007 The CWA Certificate of Excellence for her book. Bonnie Pemberton wrote "The Cat Master" to remember her real cat, Buddy, who had died; and to make it about her other cats, Zekki, Cookie and Pouncho (Cookie had her named changed to Pris for the book and I guess Pouncho is Jett). When Bonnie wrote the book she stopped for two years after Buddy died finally publishing it in 2007. Synopsis The Cat Master is about a cat named Buddy who risks his life to save his friends Zekki and Pris from his evil brother Jett Zekki is a long white haired cat the cares for Buddy and Pris. Pris is a Calico cat who is lost and confused in the outs and worried she won't find Buddy or Zekki. Jett hates Buddy because he put Buddy in a dumpster when they were kittens and buddy was saved by the Boy. Buddy has to save Pris and Zekki and kill Jett for taking them away and being cruel to them.
