The Carsonia

Basic Information.

The Carsonia was a cruse ship built in England. It was the biggest ever cruise ship and longest built in that period. Sadly it's fortune was even worse than the Titanic had been involved in, in the year of 1912. The ships interior was magnificently beautiful and grand. It contained some of the worlds greatest woodwork and marble statues. The Carsonia was one of historys most exspensive ship builds ever.

The ships construction

The construction of the Carsonia took seven years. Millions of workmen put their full dedication into the ship; including carpenters, masonry's, marble masonry's, designers and many more categorys of workmen. The designer of the ship was called Thomas Robins, in corrospondence with Alexanda Simpson. Milions of pounds where spent on th Carsonia not knowing of it's ill fated journey to come. The clock face on the Centre stand of the ships upper boat deck had an amazingly carved outer casing. The ship was full of suprises

The ships interior

The Carsonia contained drawing rooms, sitting rooms, dining rooms, cafes, squash corts, swimming pools, promenades and hundreds of more rooms; not to mention the thousands of cabins on the ship. These rooms contained elaborate furniture, beautiful windows and carvings, and some of the most wonderful floorings and ceilings to ever be placed in a ship. The first class cabins were stunning and not to mention breathtaking sites. The walls where covered with outstanding panels of glorious wood encrusted with golden plates. The entire ship was something to never forget.

The ships passengers

The Carsonia held some of the richest people of Britian and America, even a former prime minister of Eastern Europe. The people took along with them some of the finest jewlerey and clothes, and where served fabulous meals on the most elaborate and beautiful pieces of crocery and china. It is said that a quarter ofthe people on the ship were milionares and even some billionares.

The services

At dinner the ships orchestra (3 violins, 1 viola, 1 Double bass and one cello). They would play classical music so beautifully that it was as if the composers themselves wher playing the music. The ship contained many people including

* The Captain
* The Stewards
* The maids
* The butlers
* The Chefs
* The Waiters and Waitresses
* The Orchestra (6 people)
* The Officers
* The lower deck mechanics
* The communication officers
* The mail officers
* The Doctors
* The Nurses
* The security officers
* etc

each person would have a slightly different thing to do than everybody else and would work on shifts thus having their own cabins; not as grand as the others.

The Tragedy

At 10:17pm on the 27th of July the ship struck and iceberg and sea water poured into the ship quickly flooding it. As the decks began to slant more and more the people trapped below where left so the crew could escape from the evacuation. As the funnel ripped off like paper it knocked seven lifeboats into the water and dragged them down. When the ship finnaly dissapeared from the surface it dragged down another six lifeboats full of people. At the end of it all it was realised that 2100 had perished, thats 100 less than Titanic was carrying. Two ships had answered the Carsonia's calls, but were to late to save the people in the water. The two boats where a private yacht owned by John Harper and the American cruise liner The Cuba. They where left to only collect either the people in the boats or the dead bodies.

The History of the ship

The ship was thought to have been built in the early 1900s. Designs have been discovered but the ship was never found; this has led historians to believe that the Carsonia was not a proper cruise construction, or was just never built. A journal was found with notes on construction but no name, Historians still debate over the ships existence. The ship unlike Titanic never got fame of any sort due to the strong thought of the ship being fake.
