The Brink is a popular breakfast radio show on Edge Radio. The show is hosted by Ben Waterworth and Joshua Shoobridge and is broadcast on Thursdays and Fridays at 7am.
History The show has evolved from several different formats, and started out on the Elizabeth College schoolies hour in 2004. Ben went on to host a schoolies show with Peter Wallhead at the end of 2004, and then at the start of 2005 with current host Joshua Shoobridge and Joe Mackey. Anthony Moran joined the show in mid 2005 when Josh left, and they renamed themselves JAB Schoolies. The show had several memorable segments, and the Hobart 2020 Olympic Bid was created during this time. Other notable moments included Adam Cousens performing live and a special tribute This Is Your Life style show for Anthony on his birthday. The show ended its stint as JAB Schoolies in December 2005.
After a 6 month break, Ben and Anthony returned, this time on Monday afternoons from 12-2pm and rebranded the show calling it The Brink, which is a play on Edge in Edge Radio. In June 2007 due to increasing popularity, the show moved to the converted Friday morning breakfast slot, and also extended its length by a further hour to a 3 hour show. The show was chosen as Edge Radios flagship team and broadcasted live from the 2007Royal Hobart Show. In December 2007 an extra show was added on Thursday mornings in the same timeslot.
In January 2008, Moran parted ways with the show, and was replaced by former co-host Joshua Shoobridge.

Hobart 2020 Olympics The show is probably most famous for creating a fictional Olympic bid for the city of Hobart in 2020. It is the main theme of the show and Ben and Anthony often make out that they constantly tour the world promoting the games, and that they are good friends with many of the worlds leaders as well as several international celebrities. They also make out that the entire city of Hobart is behind the games, despite the fact that relatively few people actually know about it.
Guests Several well known guests have appeared on the show, including Hobart mayor Rob Valentine, up and coming Hobart musician Adam Cousens,Tasmanian politician Lisa Singh, WIN Television newsreader John Remess, Vanessa Amorosi, Tasmanian Minister for Education David Bartlett and Home and Away stars Paul O'Brien and Cornelia Frances.Mark Webber, , Nikki Webster and Tasmanian Premier Paul Lennon are all scheduled to appear on the show in the future, with former Australian Prime Minister John Howard, current Australian Prime MinisterKevin Rudd, and several other stars of Home and Away all rumoured to be appearing on the show too.
John Howard interviews In 2007 the show was well known for it's weekly 'interview' with John Howard, in which he discusses everything relating to weekly events in Politics, to his attempt at being 'hip' and 'youthful' and being in touch with the youth of Australia. He is also known for breaking out into song, in an attempt to launch a music career, and spawned the song , a parody of the Britney Spears hit . Style The show is presented in a satirical format, with both Ben and Josh often claiming to be major international celebrities. Ben claims to be a past Olympic champion, having competed in every single modern Olympics, despite that fact that he is actually only 20 and would be impossible for that to have happened. Sometimes they will both joke about the fact that they stretch the truth a lot and have even mentioned several things to have been fake in the past.
