The Boris Flats is a music group formed in 1999, based in Portsmouth, Hampshire and featuring musicians Van Norris and Geoff Webb.
Two studio albums have been released to date, 'Dinlo- The Original Soundtrack' (2000) and 'The Sunshine Imperative' (2003) based around the song-writing, arrangements and vocals of Norris.
'The Boris Flats' are a studio-based outfit that lean heavily on influences such as John Barry, Todd Rundgren, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, XTC, Ben Folds, Ennio Morricone and The Flaming Lips. . Although they have never played live the band record infrequently and have deliberately maintained a low-key, image-less presence, preferring to let their music dominate perceptions of the band. They haven't recorded an album since 2003 but have made several noises towards releasing new material that has remained unfinished since it was intiated in December 2006.
