Gideon Praveen Kumar.V.(Born: 29.1.1982) is a research analyst for Frost and Sullivan (Pvt) Ltd Chennai. He is currently pursuing his Doctoral degree as a part-time scholar at VIT University under the esteemed guidance of Dr, Lazar Mathew, Dean, School of Biotechnology, Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. His areas of Specialization include Medical devices design, analysis and development with special reference to Cardiovascular Implants, Cardiovascular Physiology, Cardiovascular Biomechanics and Bio-fluid Dynamics.His PhD research is on "Design of a Percutaneous Aortic Valve Stent & its hemo-dynamics"
He Obtained a B.Physio Degree from the esteemed Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore and went on to complete his MTech degree in Biomedical Engineering at VIT University, which is arguably the best Private Engineering Institution in India.
He joined Frost and Sullivan in Jan 2008 and has successfully completed several research services and consulting projects in the areas of Medical Imaging and Patient Monitoring. Along with his close friend and Co-Doctoral scholar Mr.Sudesh Sivarasu, has carried out some excellent research in the area of medical implants and biomechanics. Mr.Sudesh, a research analyst from RR Donnelley, is an expert in sports biomechanics with special reference to kinetics and kinematics of an artificial high flexion knee.

He is married to Vidhya Praveen Kumar who is also a biomedical engineer by degree and is currently working with him at Frost and Sullivan for the Medical Devices team.
