Element 115 is the first U.S. musical group to have a virtual character as an integral member of the band. Unknowingly developed at the same time as the U.K. group Gorillaz (a completely virtual band) Element 115 bills itself as the #1 classic rock show in Phoenix.

The band originated in 1995 with all human members, recorded an album at The Edge studios in Los Angeles, and auditioned for the famous manager Bill Aucoin (developer of KISS, and Billy Idol). Division between the members on the direction of the band soon followed, and the personnel changed. The guitarist/keyboardist, Michael Macpherson, found Carla Kirlin to take over the bass playing, and then created the virtual character "AL" to be on drums.

In 2007, Jess Darin, the then 15 year-old guitarist/keyboardist joined the band and they released an entirely new CD on October 1st of that year through Ultramedia Records (indie). On July 5th of 2007 the band headlined opening night of the Roswell UFO Festival's 60th Anniversary celebration in Roswell, New Mexico.

The band plays many charity concerts, and their CD is played in the U.S. and U.K.
