The Assembly of Evil is a fictional supervillain team appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The group appeared in Cloak and Dagger Vol. 3 #8-9 and was created by Terry Austin, Mike Vosburg, and Don Cameron. Fictional team biography During the Acts of Vengeance storyline where villains of all types tried to defeat heroes that they don't usually fight, the second Jester was contacted by a Doctor Doom robot to create a team to defeat the Avengers. Jester II contacted many second-tier criminals to form his "Assembly of Evil," including the heroes Cloak and Dagger, whose reputation as vigilantes has often left them be mistaken for criminals. When he contacted Leader for membership, Rock was sent to Jester in his place. The Assembly confronted a small contingent of Avengers who were holding a press conference regarding the "Acts of Vengeance." The Avengers defeated the Assembly with the help of Cloak and Dagger, who had only agreed to join the villains so they could foil their plans. The Assembly was remanded to custody and the various members have never since banded together again.
