The Adelphian Society of Fitchburg State College

The Adelphian Society is a Greek Letter Sorority/Secret Society that was founded at Fitchburg State College on February 18, 1949. Our greek symbols are Sigma Alpha Delta, our colors are Maroon and Gray and our symbol is a red rose.

Along with many other local sororities and fraternities, we were active at Fitchburg State College from 1949-2000. We enjoyed sisterhood through lots of activities and shared experiences over the years, including an annual formal dance, community services, scholarships, sports, theatre, involvement in Intra-Fraternity Sorority Council, outdoor activities, alumni reunions, family activities and many, many social events with other fraternities, sororities and clubs.

We are part of some of the oldest traditions of Fitchburg State College-traditions bound to local roots and values. Until the late 1990’s, the greek social structure of FSC was primarily comprised of local sororities and fraternities; “Local” meaning that they existed only at Fitchburg State College and were self-governing and did not answer to a national organization.
