The ABC Doll Club

The ABC Doll Club is a doll collecting club based in Australia. The club generally focuses on Barbie dolls and other 1/6 scale fashion dolls. The intention of the club is to share doll collecting news and resources, as well as liaise with doll manufacturers and sellers to provide a fair and informative relationship with the doll collecting community.

History
The Club has been around for close to two decades. It originated from a small group of collectors in Melbourne and has grown to include members nationwide and a few internationally.
Naming Controversy
The club recently changed its full name from Australian Barbie Club to the ABC Doll Club to keep in line with Mattel's regulations regarding its trademarks. However, while operating under the former name, the club had always respected Mattel's ownership of the term "Barbie" and officially referred to itself as "ABC". The new name now reads as the abc of doll collecting, although its goals and intentions remain the same.

Club Structure and Membership
The club is headed by a group of office bearers who have varying roles in contributing to the running of the club. Paying members receive a regular newsletter as well as discounts from corporate member stores and the opportunity to meet up with other members, including invites to conventions. Members are generally adult collectors above the age of 14 and are accepted from all around the world.
