TEDxSF is an independently organized TED event in San Fransisco Bay Area. TEDx events are self organized. These events are curated to educate and inspire the San Fransisco Bay Area community, bring together innovators and thinkers who live in the area, encourage responsible environmental practices and provide an environment to share and embrace passions. Participation in TEDxSF is by invitation only. Members are selected using an online registration form however filling out the registration form does not guarantee membership There is a very limited seating available at each event for example there were only 90 seats for members in the "Inaugural Event: The Big Shift" (May 28th, 2009). Many of TEDxSF events are live streamed over the web for free. TEDxSF operates under a license from TED and was initiated by Jason Johnson and Michael Levit.
