Side Show Pizza was an arcade and family fun center that was once located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania near Greengate Mall (previously under previous ownership and called "Major Magic's All Star Pizza Revue") and in 1996 moved to a location in Irwin, Pennsylvania just off of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Side Show Pizza contained a dining room with animitronic characters that would put on a show about a half dozen times per hour. Center stage of this show was a band of animal animitronics called Rock N' Roll Rebellion and every show was hosted by an animitronic clown. The center also consisted of many arcade games as well as skee ball, video poker, and other machines allowing you to collect tickets and tokens to later redeem for prizes. Major Magic's and Side Show Pizza was a popular hang out for many high school students from Greensburg-Salem and Hempfield Area School Districts. In 1995 when Side Show Pizza lost it's lease for a brand new Dick's Sporting Goods (which ended up not being built in that location) they were forced to close the business. In 1996 they moved to the Irwin location but, unfortunately, business was not near as good as what it had been in Greensburg and, just a few years later , Side Show Pizza closed it's door for good. Changing Pennsylvania Gambling Laws Side Show Pizza is significant because of something that many people do not know about Side Show Pizza - the owner's battle with Pennsylvania's gambling laws. While Wylie Irwin consulted with local prosecutors it was years later that the Pennsylvania State Police decided that Side Show Pizza was violating gambling laws. After multiple battles that went clear to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Wylie found the ruling that he was looking for and Pennsylvania now saw entertainment machines that award tickets or tokens for prize redemption that is never equal to or greater than the money spent to play is not to be considered gambling because such awards do not carry the dangerous that traditional gambling carries .
