Tea Jazz

Itive Elvis Ovie, better known by his stage name Tea Jazz, is a Nigerian recording artist. Tea Jazz commonly called "Mr. Super Lover" is currently an unsigned artiste. Being the second child of his christian parents and from a humble background, Tea Jazz didn't get the opportunity to professionally do music despite having a flair for music from an early stage in life. He got his first shot at doing music on a biggest level in 2010 when he got admitted into the university, Tea Jazz has worked with a couple of bigger names in the Nigeria music industry.
Biography
Early life and music career
Elvis was born in Benin City, on the 24th of September in the early 90's but he his originally from Delta State. He is from Ughelli, an Urhobo speaking tribe in Delta State. He had his upbringing and education in Benin City as well. Although Tea Jazz had been singing right from childhood, his musical career didn't kick start until 2010 while in the University of Benin studying Social Work. He met with an artist who was very popular back then on campus. Upon meeting him - Antiviruz, Tea Jazz officially began doing music on a professional level. He got invited by Antiviruz to his studio which was located close the school, coincidentally Antiviruz happened to be a classmate of Tea Jazz and because of that, they were able to form a very cordial relationship. He had his first recording session under the supervision of Antiviruz, the song tiled "Super Lover" is a RnB infused song, although it wasn't an official record, the song got massive airplay on campus and within the Benin metropolis and the popularity of the song he got the alias Mr. Super Lover from the song. Following up, he released "Miss Beautiful" featuring Antiviruz alongside a captivating video as well.
Born into a Christian background with his father being a pastor, Tea Jazz's decision to ventured into music was rejected and he had a series of battles with his family over his choice to do music. In an interview with , Tea Jazz stated he got disowned by his parents due to his decision to do music, "My Dad is a pastor. So, it a battle to win his support. I was disowned and later reintegrated into the family by my parents. They never supported me. They were like even if you are going to do music at all, it has to be gospel music. So, it was a challenge getting to where I am today. My parents withdrew their support from me. Even with my schooling, they stopped supporting me. They said, since I wanted to be a prodigal son, they wouldn’t support me in anything."
Tea Jazz decided to fund his career independently but after a while, he recorded a gospel song titled "You Too Much", the choice to become a gospel artiste won his father's heart back and subsequently he got reabsorbed back into his family.
After completion of his university education in University of Benin UNIBEN, Tea Jazz moved to Lagos in 2015 and then went back to his first love - secular music, which he had always wanted. He released his official single "Ovakpo" in 2015 and shot a video as well. The video was shot by Daniel Ugo and had a cameo from Yung6ix. His second official single "Calypso" was released in early 2016 after signing a management deal with K-Solo Inc Musik,. Tea Jazz's striking resemblance with KCee has been a subject of many discussions, in an interview excerpt with Authority Newspaper: "TeaJazz who is easily mistaken for Kcee by many, revealed how he was almost mobbed last year by a group of boys who sighted him and thought he was the ‘Limpopo King’. “I went to the ATM, some guys saw me coming out and chased me badly, calling me Kcee. I ran till I start-ed panting. This has become my ordeal on a daily basis. The days when I am not in the mood to explain myself, I just nod and walk away very fast."
In another interview with Joe Agbro of The Nation Tea Jazz declared Cynthia Morgan as his celebrity crush and hope to do a joint song together.
