Tavares J Beverley

Tavares James Beverly (born January 22, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois), began an acting career at the age of 15, on the award winning TV show The Awakening. Tavares then attended Florida Memorial University (1995-1999) and gained a full scholarship majoring in Musical Theatre Production. While in college he participated in plays like, Gods Trombones, A Tribute to Harlem, and Damn Yankees. He also worked part time at Martin and Donald Talent & Model Agency where he learned the inside workings of the South Florida entertainment industry.
He then moved to Los Angeles to cultivate an understanding in acting. There, he appeared in many TV shows and feature films. He also trained extensively with some of LA’s finest coaches and teachers.
In 2003 Tavares opened the Miami, L.A. based production company, "Beverly Boy Productions", a video and film production company. Over the years, Tavares’s company has produced multiple TV commercials, stage plays, independent films, and television shows, for a wide array of clients.
During Tavares's career he has worked with the likes of Hillary Clinton, producing a commercial during her presidential campaign. He worked alongside multi platinum R&B singer Ginuwine, producing the pilot for his reality TV show. Tavares also worked with the producers of the Mary Kate and Ashley series to bring a Disney style hip-hop kids feature film to Miami. He has been called to produce segments of (season 14) The Montel Williams Show, and also produced three full seasons of the (UPN) MyNetworkTV hip-hop and R&B TV show On the Mike at Midnight. He has worked with national agencies producing several TV commercials
Tavares also opened the "Acting Like Crazy workshop" to help local talent gain insight in the entertainment industry. Tavares has provided workshops that combine improv and technique to promote overall personal development. He has lent his experience to hundreds of aspiring actors, directors and filmmakers. Some organizations that have taken part in Tavares’s workshops include; Florida Atlantic University, The Urban League, Florida Film Institute, Miami Children’s Museum, Florida Memorial University, and many more. He also worked together with the "Make a Wish Foundation" to take children to California for a VIP style tour of Hollywood, including studio and helicopter tours.
