Tau Sigma Phi (TΣΦ) is a local sorority located at Carleton University, in Ottawa, Canada. It was founded in September of 2007. It was founded in the spirit of friendship, loyalty, trust, respect and love for one another. Currently, Tau Sigma Phi is comprised solely of its Alpha chapter. History Tau Sigma Phi was founded in September of 2007 by Kristin Dafoe, Sara Korajian, Sarah Jones, Natasha Hjort, and Halley van Muyen. These five women came together to create a sorority based on all the principles and beliefs they held dear. Tau Sigma Phi believes in friendship, loyalty, leadership, scholastic achievement, philanthropic involvement, and socializing/networking. Philanthropy Tau Sigma Phi's philanthropy is breast cancer. Breast cancer was chosen because of its alarming prevalence in young women. They hold regular fund raising events for this cause; most notable is the Pretty in Pink pub, which is held ever January. Trivia * Tau Sigma Phi is comprised of 26 active members and 7 alumna. * Tau Sigma Phi's colours are warm pink, ivory, and navy blue. * Tau Sigma Phi's flower is the orchid. * Tau Sigma Phi's gemstone is the pink sapphire.
