Tathagata Dasgupta

Tathagata "Das" Dasgupta is an American business executive who works in the fields of analytics. He is currently the Head of Data Science and Advanced Analytics at Viacom.

The most recent clients are from manufacturing, media & entertainment, CPG, retail, consumer electronics, and high tech. He left in 2013.
Also in 2011, Dasgupta joined the Harvard Business Review as an advisory board member. He advised the editorial board on trending topics and articles covering advanced customer analytics and insights. Dasgupta is still currently a member.
In 2013, Dasgupta joined McKinsey & Company as an Associate Principal. He provided strategic management consulting services to clients in the high tech, media and entertainment, consumer goods, retail, and aerospace sectors. Here he designed and rolled out global operational strategy for a $13 billion agro-chemicals company. He left in 2015.
In 2014, Dasgupta joined the USC Marshall School of Business as adjunct professor of Data Science and Advanced Analytics. He currently teaches MBA and MS courses in Advanced Analytics and Logistics.
Personal life
Dasgupta is married to filmmaker Monalisa Dasgupta, founder and CEO of Mona Lisa Movies International. Together, they have two children. The family lives in Irvine, California.
Dasgupta has written five books - three originals and two translations, including a translation of the works of Nobel Laureate poet Tomas Tranströmer into Bengali. He has co-authored several other poetry translation projects. He also co-edits the Bengali literary journal Ogrobeej, which consists of essays, short stories, and poetry. Ogrobeej is published in India, Bangladesh, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.<ref name=":1" />
