Tamar (Tamar.com Ltd) is a search engine optimisation, social media and mobile marketing firm founded in 1995, with headquarters in London, UK. Background Tamar was named after , the naval base in Hong Kong where founder and CEO Tanya Goodin was brought up. It employs approximately 30 staff based in London, with subsidiaries in Shanghai, China and Cape Town, South Africa. History Tamar was established in 1995 by Tanya Goodin. The company moved to its current premises in Chiswick in 1997. In 2004 Tamar began working with Direct Line. Its first overseas office opened in 2006 in Cape Town, South Africa, and the next year saw the first annual CSR Project take place in Guguletu, Cape Town South Africa In 2007, the UK office launched a new Social Media division. Tamar Lifeline Charity was set up in 2008, a registered charity to facilitate their global CSR work, the first of which was undertaken in Shanghai. Three years later in 2011, Tamar created the Brand Love 25 Infographic, naming the top 25 most loved brands in Britain. In 2012 Tamar released a series of Olympic themed Infographics for Team GB, and hosted a Social Media Week London 2012 panel event - 'Did London 2012 win socialympics Gold?'. Tanya Goodin Tanya Goodin studied English at Oxford University, then worked in several media/creative companies before setting up her own business in 1995. Goodin was an ‘Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 Award’ finalist and a finalist for the BlackBerry Outstanding Women and Technology Award 2008. In 2014 she was shortlisted for the First Women Awards in the 'media' category.
