TalePicker is an internet media and news company from India. The company creates and curates India specific stories. The website initially started as a viral content generating and sharing website but now the company has also begun serving as a news portal and also acts as a channel for sharing and remedying social concerns. History TalePicker was founded in August 2015 by Bhawani Garg. At the time of starting TalePicker, Bhawani wanted to continue TalePicker as a side project in addition to his day job. But after the website's initial success he left his jobs and began to fully devote his time to TalePicker in December 2015. In January 2016, apart from the 112,500 unique views, the site also garnered 1113750 page views and has been consistently getting over a million social shares monthly across articles. Content The site’s content is divided into 10 sections: Humor, Reads, News, Travel, Food, Sports, Videshi, Videos, Women and Life. Technology and social media TalePicker receives the majority of its traffic by creating content that is shared on social media websites. The site continues to test and track their custom content with an in-house team of data scientists and external-facing “social dashboard.” Staff writers are ranked by views on an internal leaderboard. In 2015, TalePicker received 75% of its views from links on social media outlets such as Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook.
