Taa II

Taa II, also called Worldship and New Taa, is the fictional solar system-sized, Möbius strip-shaped home of the Marvel Comics cosmic entity Galactus.

Fictional history

After emerging from his metamorphosis millions of years after the Big Bang, Galactus consumed the nearby planet Archeopia — the first world to fall prey to his cosmic hunger. Galactus felt compelled to create a monument to his dead homeworld Taa, which existed in the previous universe, and to the ravaged planet Archeopia.

Galactus used the remains of Archeopia as the basis from which he created the enormous Taa II. Galactus intended for Taa II to surpass any natural world in size, beauty and splendor. Based on accounts from the few beings to step foot within it and survive the experience, such as Reed Richards, Galactus easily accomplished his goals.

Indeed, Taa II is so massive that several planets and even a star are held captive by its gravitational pull. Additionally, Reed Richards has speculated that Taa II is the greatest single source of energy in the entire universe.

During the original Secret Wars, Galactus attempted to devour Taa II in order to challenge the Beyonder. However, Doctor Doom anticipated Galactus' plan and was able to steal the energy before Galactus was able to consume it. Whether or not this was the legitimate Taa II is unknown as it has been seen numerous times since.
