T. Hariri

T. Hariri (né Tarek Al-Hariri) is a Syrian American writer born in Washington, D.C. where he generally lives and writes. He has been published nationally and internationally. He is the editor of the Washington, DC literary magazine, The Rome Review.
Work
As a civil activism commentator, he has been featured on NPR All Things Considered, and Al-Jazeera, among others. He is President Emeritus of PeaceForum at The George Washington University that he led from 2007-2008.
He served as Chancellor of The George Washington University Society of Arts and Letters, 2008-2009, that co-administers the Jenny-2 Reading Series, part of the Jenny McKean Moore Endowment and has hosted several authors .
Other
He lectured as a panelist presenting on Arab-American culture and identity in June, 2008 at the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee .
He has read at several venues, most recently in April, 2008, at the Hewar Center think tank.
His poetry has been anthologized in Howard University’s The Poetics Noire.
He has written for the internationally distributed Forward Magazine.
