Educational Method
S.C.U.B.A. AG has combined objectivism and constructivism (http://en. .org/wiki/Constructivism_(philosophy_of_education)) in a single educational system. Programmes for novices are highly standardised. Continuing education programmes are increasingly based on constructivism. The increasing responsibility of divers when they achieve higher certification levels requires them to take context into account, which in turn requires an educational approach to prepare them for that responsibility. New instructors learn how to teach according to the objectivist learning tradition. Instructors at higher levels are introduced to constructivist methods.
General
Already 2 years after the society was founded, S.C.U.B.A. AG had a complete set of educational materials available in English, German, French and Dutch, ranging from books for beginners all the way through documentation for diving instructors. S.C.U.B.A. AG is a partner of the Schweizer Unterwasser-Sport-Verband (SUSV - Swiss Diving Federation) .
