Jane Dunn

Jane Dunn (Jane Margaret Dudley Dunn; born December 7, 1953) is a renowned English painter, best known for her oil portraits and equine paintings.
Biography
Jane was born in Gloucester and grew up with many pet animals, mostly dogs and horses. Before she took up art she left her home at the age of 17 to follow her passion for riding. Soon enough she rode professionally in steeplechases and combined events, then got a position in Stanny Van Paesschen fathers stable in Belgium. She later became a dress designer and had her own label selling to Harrods. Her formal training was at Chelsea College of Arts, Simi Studio Florence and City and Guilds of London Institute.
At the age of 30 she married Thomas Astley Dunn descendant of Archibald Matthias Dunn and Sir John Dugdale Astley, 3rd Baronet.
After her marriage, she and her family of 5 sons and one daughter moved to central France. Surrounded by some of Europe's great gardens in the Loire and Burgundy areas, it was not surprising they became a great passion to her as well as influencing her work.
On May 1, 2013 Jane visited Buckingham Palace to present one of her paintings called "Welsh Ponies on the Hills" on behalf of the Welsh Pony and Cob society to Her Majesty the Queen. The gift was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as Patron of the Society to mark the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
