Swimming with Dolphins is an American synthpop band from Minnesota, US. It was formed in 2008 by Austin Tofte and Adam Young, of Owl City. Adam Young left the band to focus on Owl City after his project gained considerable mainstream popularity. Swimming with Dolphins released one EP, entitled Ambient Blue. Since Young left the group, Tofte has written and produced his own music and lyrics. Tofte and Young still remain friends. The band has a similar style to Owl City and other synthpop artists such as Lights, Breanne Düren, The Postal Service and Analog Rebellion. On June 21, 2010, Swimming with Dolphins signed onto the Seattle record label Tooth & Nail Records. The single "Sleep to Dream" from the album "Water Colours" was released via iTunes and Amazon on April 26, 2011. Swimming with Dolphins' debut album entitled Water Colours was released on May 17, 2011 on Tooth & Nail Records. On August 9, 2011 Swimming with Dolphins released their debut music video "Sleep to Dream" On VEVO. On August 26, 2012, Tofte released a new song titled "Seabird" under the name "Fair Isle". On August 21, 2013, Tofte announced he has begun working on a new album called Catharsis under his "Swimming with Dolphins" name.
