Swami Vivekananda Saraswati

Swami Vivekananda Saraswati (), is a modern-day spiritual teacher. He is an exponent of Tantric Yogas, both Indian and Tibetan, Kashmir Shaivism, and esoteric Christianity. He is the founder and spiritual leader of the Agama Yoga school.

Biography

Born 28 August, 1962, in , Romania, Swami Vivekananda Saraswati took an early interest in the exact sciences, winning a gold medal in the 1978 national Physics Olympics.

Vivekananda began his studies of the spiritual sciences at the age of 16 with his first spiritual mentor. In 1981 he began university studies, and at the same time he began intense Yogic and Tantric practice under the guidance of his first Yoga guru, Gregorian Bivolaru.

in 1990, he moved to Copenhagen, where he founded Natha the largest Yoga school in Denmark today.

In 1998, he left Denmark and Natha for India, and took the Sannyasa vows of the Swami order at the Maha Kumbha Mela in Haridwar. On this occasion, he was given the Indian Yogic name Swami Vivekananda Saraswati, meaning “the bliss arising from discriminative insight,” by his guru, Swami Munishananda Saraswati.

In 2003, Vivekananda moved the headquarters of the Agama Yoga School to the island of Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand, where he has been teaching ever since.
