Swami Sandeep Chaitanya is a Hindu monk. He is famous for his public discourses on Bhagavad Gita. He is the founder and director of School of Bhagawad Gita. He started an International School of Bhagavad Gita in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The key aim of the school is to help all the spiritual seekers in finding answers to their questions. Swami's The Sampoorna Geeta Jnana Yagnam, which was telecasted by Doordarshan as a serialized version received wide viewership. Swami Sandeep Chaitanya is the founder and spiritual head of Salagramam. He is the Chairman The School of Bhagavad Gita Trust. Swami Sandeep Chaitanya’s inspiration is the life and work of Swami Chinmayananda, whom he reveres as his spiritual guru. Born in Kerala, India, Swami Sandeep Chaitanya, from a very early age, was deeply interested in the scriptures of Hindu philosophy and the philosophy of the different cultures of the world. He formally studied the Vedanta Course from the Chinmaya International Foundation, Adi Sankara Nilayam, Kerala and joined the Chinmaya Mission in 1994. He has conducted innumerable jnana yagnas on the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads and other sacred texts, all over the country and abroad. He has conceptualised several new projects of the Mission and organized spiritual journeys, including Kailas Yatra. With his erudition and depth of knowledge, Swami Sandeep Chaitanya has interpreted the texts so as to reach the common man. The 108 days’ continuous Gita Yagna at Thiruvananthapuram in 2003-2004 was the first of its kind in recorded history. The event was repeated by him in Ernakulam in 2005- 2006. These have won wide acclaim among the public, young and old and generated extensive media coverage. Talks and discourses by Swami are frequently telecast by all major channels including the series being aired daily on Doordarshan.
