Survent is a comprehensive piece of software for computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CAPI and CATI) developed by CfMC. It which provides complete capabilities for designing, administering, and managing all of the complexities of sophisticated telephone-based research operations. Survent is the most widely used program of its kind, used by more than 60% of all networked telephone interviewing stations in the U.S. The program's Telephone Number Management System is frequently cited as the standard of excellence in the research industry. Survent was designed especially for use by interviewing agencies who conduct face-to-face interviews in shopping malls, at store exits, during conventions, etc. It can also be used for telephone interviewing at small or large central facilities. Survent is a natural extension of CfMC's product line, which includes software for cross tabulation, statistical testing, and a variety of other research functions. Survent was originally developed in 1976, and was rewritten in C in 1981. In recent years, it has been adopted as the system of choice at more than 200 locations, including two of the largest multiple location data collection companies in the country.
