Sughada

Sughanda in the Hindu epic Mahabharata was concubine of Dhritrashtra and mother of Yuyutsu. She was an vaishya women. Elaborate details about her life is not revealed anywhere in the epic but some versions of Mahabharata depict her as wife of king Dhritarashtra. Queen Gandhari had developed complications with pregnancy that continued for almost two years. Meanwhile Gandhari's lady-in-waiting Sughanda conceived and her only son Yuyutsu was born the same day as Duryodhan. Thus Sugandha's son Yuyutsu was half brother to Kauravas and is celebrated for being a moral warrior. He defected to Pandava camp and managed to survive the war. Altogether Dhitrashtra fathered 102 children.
