Sugarmoon

Sugarmoon is a Copenhagen-based pop band founded by Steinar Bjarni Aichy in January 2002, after the break-up of his earlier band Nosy Parker where he was lead singer and guitarist.

Sugarmoon was Steinar’s solo project until August 2006, with production in his home studio in Copenhagen. At that time the project was targeted primarily at the internet, publishing songs solely on his own website and on myspace.
With the 2006 release of his first album Lover’s Extravaganza, in collaboration with producer Frederic le Freaky, a tradition of Sugarmoon release parties was initiated. On a need to know basis, the happenings were low key, although not at all 'private'. People would gather and celebrate. The live performances at these release parties were joined by casual guests. Anyone could pick up an instrument, walk on stage and jam along on the tracks being played.

In May 2010 bass player Anders Willand joined the band, followed in August 2010 by percussionist Jan Madsen. Sugarmoon could now perform live as a self-sufficient instrumental band in bars around Copenhagen. Their first gig took place at Tjili Pop, September 1st 2010, in Rantzausgade, Copenhagen. Their first album together, Sugarmoon Is Here For You, was released on November 19th 2010.

As of May 2011, Sugarmoon are recording their next album, Love Curls.
