Steven Laidlaw

Steven Laidlaw (born 17 June 1973) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a forward for East Stirlingshire and Livingston. Career Club career Laidlaw started his career at Livingston but found it difficult to break into the first team with players like Graham Harvey and Jason Young in fine goal scoring form at the time. The forward went on to make 17 appearances and scored 4 goals during his time at Livi. He left Almondvale Stadium in 1997 to get more first team football, and signed for Berwick Rangers. He played for the Wee Gers for one season, but failed to score in 21 appearances for the club. The striker signed for East Stirlingshire in 1999 where he found the net on a regular basis. Laidlaw scored 15 goals in 33 appearances for the Shire. Laidlaw returned to Shielfield Park to re-sign for Berwick Rangers in 2000. His second spell began well after scoring 3 goals in his first 4 games. However he didn't score in his remaining 17 games for the Wee Gers, and received 2 red cards in this time. In December 2000, he departed Berwick Rangers for the second time and signed for Montrose. He rediscovered his scoring touch at Links Park, netting 16 times in 39 appearances, including a hat-trick in a 3-1 victory over Hamilton Accies in February 2001.He also netted a hat-trick in a 4-1 Scottish Cup victory over Tarff Rovers in November 2001.
