American writer Stephen Jon Postal, also a film Director and film Producer was born March 9, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York son of Julius Bernard Postal who was a film director, writer, teacher and co-founder of the Screen Directors International Guild and Naomi Miriam Schwartzman Postal who was a Librarian and elementary school teacher. Postal is the co-writer with his wife Guia Dino Postal of, Of Margaret and Madness: A Novel Inspired By True Events (ISBN 9781434362292, Published 2008 by AuthorHouse) based on the teenage life of Canadian Author, Margaret Gibson and Canadian female-impersonator and actor Craig Russell (Russell Craig Eadie). He graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School, Brooklyn, New York and attended Brooklyn College, City University of New York (1957-1963)majoring in Sociology-Anthropology and The New School University, Graduate School courses in Film and Television History and Production (1963-1965). Postal was an elementary and junior high school teacher in New York and worked in the New York Public Library, New York, New York and in many libraries in the U. S. and Canada. Postal served as a cinematographer, editor and sound man for Tele-Science Productions, New York, New York (owned by his father) from June 1957 to January 1961. He served as the book selection committee Clerk in the Scarborough Public Library, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada (1966-1970) ordering books for that system and as head librarian of the Bostwick Community branch of the Putnam County Library, Palatka, Florida for 3 years. Postal was a TV-engineer and the assistant Director of Film Production at Florida Atlantic University, Learning Resources Center, Boca Raton, Florida (1970-1972) where he directed educational and teaching films. He directed, Ten Little Indians (1971) and The T-10 Project (1971) which appeared on the NBC-TV network. Postal founded Cinevue International Film and Video Festival in April, 1984 and the Goldie Film Awards international competition in January, 1994 and is currently the Director of both worldwide film, video, internet and script competitions. Postal founded COGW, Inc. a worldwide philanthropic organization and foundation which funds aid to the urban homeless in April, 1977 and is currently the Director. He was also owner of Postal Marine, Port Perry, Ontario, Canada builders and renters/sellers of houseboats from 1966 to 1973 and owner-operator of the restaurant and snack bar services at Lake Scugog Marina, Port Perry, Ontario, Canada 1971 to 1973. He currently does boat and ship brokerage for his company, Postal Marine in Florida. In 1963 Postal married Justine Olga Fatula (Librarian) and they were divorced in 1974. Postal married his second wife, Agueda Guia Dino (Writer, pianist, Secondary School Teacher and United Nations, New York, Finance Expert) in 1974. In 1990 Postal was given notability and specially commended by Governor Bob Graham (D-Florida) for being the producer of theatrical feature-length films with the most number of completed theatrical feature film productions (more so, than Walt Disney Productions) in the state, that year. He was also commended for hiring the most Florida-based motion picture technical employees. Postal was also given notability by many trade publications worldwide (Variety, Back Stage, Cahiers du Cinema (in French), etc.) for the production of completed theatrical feature films in the shortest possible production time (many times with shooting and post production schedules of only 2 weeks) and for the unusual technique of filming in strict consecutive numbered scene order, as done in the historical early days of motion picture production. He lives with his wife, Guia in Palatka, Florida.
