Stephanie Sarkis

Stephanie Moulton Sarkis an educator, counselor, and author — her area of expertise is the treatment of ADD/ADHD. She is a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Sarkis is open about her own experiences with ADD/ADHD, and her use own use of stimulant medications to her ADHD. Her life story is featured in the book The Gift of Adult ADD (New Harbinger, 2008).
There is controversy within the mental health community on the existence and treatment of adult ADD. Sarkis has attracted some controversy due to her viewpoints on ADHD.
Biography
Stephanie Moulton was born in West Allis, Wisconsin. She married Elias H. Sarkis, a child psychiatrist, in 1998. From the University of Florida she earned a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication with a minor in Education in 1994; a in 1997; a "Specialist of Education" in 1997; and a PhD in Mental Health Counseling in 2002.
Sarkis specializes in the treatment of ADD/ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders and practices in Boca Raton, Florida. She is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Counselor Education at Florida Atlantic University.

Sarkis is the author of 10 Simple Solutions to Adult ADD: How to Overcome Chronic Distraction & Accomplish Your Goals (New Harbinger Publications, 2006), and “Making the Grade with ADD: A Student’s Guide to Succeeding in College with Attention Deficit Disorder” (New Harbinger, 2008).
Sarkis' books have been reviewed in a number of publications, including the Wisconsin Bookwatch, ADDitude magazine, and Mentalhelp.net.
Sarkis has also published over 25 articles for magazines, professional journals, and the general public on a variety of subjects.
