Edmar Bernardes da Silva

Edmar Bernardes DaSilva (a Brazilian writer, geographer and pedagogue) born in Luz, Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil.


Education

He attended primary, middle, and secondary schools in Luz, Minas Gerais. DaSilva also started his academic life at a Catholic college in his hometown, where he studied the Portuguese language. He earned his B.A. in history at Florida Atlantic University under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Rose who has published many books on American History post World War II (politics and policies toward American urban regions). DaSilva earned his M. A. in geography with a concentration on regional, urban, economic, and environmental geography, also at Florida Atlantic University. He earned his doctoral degree in education at Florida Atlantic University as well. At the moment he works as an adjunct professor of geography at Broward College in Davie Florida and as adjunct professor of social studies education at Florida Atlantic University Florida.


The writer

As a writer and poet DaSilva published four books in the Portuguese language. He won three international prizes in literature in Brazil.

He has lived in Italy, Germany, and India beside Brazil and the United States. He also visited different countries.

DaSilva speaks Portuguese as his first language, in addition to having learned English, Italian, German, French, and Spanish.
