Steph

Stephanie Maree Horne (born December 3, 1993 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia), known as Steph, is a solo songwriter/singer. Steph made her debut in late 2003 with her independent album Babygirl. After being reviewed by the many listeners of garageband.com, Steph's debut single peaked at 4.8 stars out of 5. Along with this success, Steph's album peaked at number 10 on the mp3.com.au top independent pop albums. Now part of a trio named the Angel ChiX, Steph is broadening her experience as a singer and a performer. Steph is back in the studio recording new tracks for her forthcoming LP. The album will also feature guest appearances by the Angel ChiX and Emma-j.
Early life and music career
During her early years, Steph studied dancing at D.A.P.A. School (Dance and Performing Arts School), including tap and jazz ballet. Through her earlier years, Steph recorded some demo and unreleased albums, most of which consisted of songs she had written herself. These albums included Flowers and Kisses, Comin' My Way, Dance, The Game and This Christmas. She also recorded a duet album with one of her friends, Karina, who has also recorded under Dave Productions.
Babygirl (2003-2005)
Babygirl is Steph's debut album release. This album was written and produced by Dave Productions and Steph. The first single "Givin' Up Everything" was released well before the album and was entirely written by Steph herself.
After "Givin' Up Everything", "Slow Down Baby" was released and brought the album to a new level. It was more upbeat than the first single but was co-written with Dave. After the voting held on her official site, "Watching You" (with Holly Fitzpatrick of Angel ChiX) was released, which is a mellow ballad about lost love. The final single, "I'm Your Babygirl", the title track from her debut album, is a mellow R&B track.
The Rules (2005-2009)
In early 2004, Steph began a pop trio named the Angel ChiX with Hollie Fitzpatrick and Emma Howley. Hollie, Steph and Emma had finished recording their debut album, The Rules along with a couple of b-sides, and released their debut single "Just Wanna Dance" mid 2007, followed in October by a double A-side single "Alright/The Rules" which were remixed for clubs. The album will be released digitally in April 2009 to coincide with their new double A-side "Loveless"/"Ballistic Affair".
Through The Dark (2008-Present)
Steph's sophomore album Through The Dark, featuring the lead single "Accelerate", is to be released mid-late 2009. In December 2008 "Accelerate" was made free to download from www.mp3.com.au whilst the video premiered on the Dave Productions channel on youtube. The digital single was then made available on the site in February 2009 and debuted at #5 on the independent R&B charts. The second single is set to be "U Got Nerve" featuring Emma-j from the Angel ChiX.<ref name="stephmusic"/>
