Stelos Alliance

Stelos Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in the United States that provides financial assistance and leadership development to those at the collegiate level . In order to qualify for one of the twenty scholarships, students must be attending either Texas State University or North Carolina State University. The Alliance is based out of Boerne, Texas but has national partnerships, including Commercial Wireless Solutions, Kalypso Consulting, and Motorola Solutions.

Purpose
The goal of Stelos Alliance is to help extraordinary young leaders reach their full potential .

History
In 2008, the Stelos Alliance comprised three initial scholarships, the Stelos Alliance Leadership Scholarship, the Bill Hogue Memorial Scholarship , and the Thomas Dugan Raffen Memorial Scholarship. The latter two scholarships, were the main reason for the development of the Alliance, with founders Bill Poston and Melinda Keller, looking for an opportunity to honor those they'd lost . In the coming years, Stelos established a multitude of other scholarships including the: Distinguished Young Bobcat Award, Virginia Moore Chi Omega Scholarship, Kalypso Wolfpack Innovators Scholarship, and the Kalypso MGIM Innovators Scholarship.
Aside from collegiate awards, the Stelos Alliance also selects recipients for the annual Stelos Alliance Award. This award is given to honor professionals and businesses "who continue the mission of the Stelos Alliance by providing post-graduate opportunities for dynamic young people." Award winners range in profession, location, and means of assistance.

Growth
The Stelos Alliance was used as a stepping stone to commemorate the founder's dear friend, Kevin Housley. Launched in 2011, the Housley Principled Leadership Program is a seven-week program taught at both Texas State University and Trinity University focused on bringing "self-awareness to the development of student leaders" through "leadership dialogue and workshops.”
In 2012, a year after the launch of the Housley Principled Leadership Program, Stelos Alliance broadened their assistance and created the Stelos Fellows program . With a focus on career development, Stelos Fellows works with young leaders to help them gain real-world experience. Past 'fellows' were given the opportunity to learn experience in regards to social media and web development, event planning and production, grant writing and fundraising, and curriculum development.
