Stefan Siegel

Early Life
Stefan Siegel is a fashion figure born in Meran in South Tyrol - the German-speaking part of Northern Italy - in December 1978. After his high school degree at the F. Morosini Military Naval School in Venice, he moved to Vienna to study economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, and worked alongside his studies for local fashion design houses and media agencies.
Career Beginnings
Following an international modelling career, he appeared in campaigns and catwalk shows for Prada, Gucci, BMW, K-Swiss and Calvin Klein, he received his MA in International Business Administration in 2004 at the Vienna University of Economics. After graduation Stefan joined the world of finance, working for companies such as Ernst & Young and Sal. Oppenheim in Switzerland, and finally the Merrill Lynch M&A Investment Banking group in New York and London, specialising in the Consumer & Retail sector and advising publicly listed fashion companies.
Not Just a Label
Together with his brother Daniel, Stefan launched NOT JUST A LABEL (NJAL) in 2008, a platform that allows emerging designers to publish their fashion portfolios to a global audience. NJAL designers are given exposure and publicity through editorial features and interviews, and receive personalised advice from the NJAL team. Cited as one of the best platforms for contemporary designers to showcase their collections, to date NJAL represents over 16,000 designers from 106 countries and has helped establish celebrated designers including Mary Katrantzou, Rad Hourani and Craig Green. In addition to promoting their designers, NJAL organises events around the world including the trade event Origin Passion & Beliefs, which aim to make the fashion industry more hospitable for young designers.
NJAL has been mentioned by several leading fashion journals, including Vogue Italia, Financial Times and Business of Fashion.
