Stefan Fischer

Stefan Fischer is the leading master of the Wing Tsun style in Australia. He trained under Leung Ting and Keith Kernspecht.
Early life
Fischer was born in Cologne, Germany in 1967. Fischer became interested in the martial arts at the age of five when his parents enrolled him in a judo class, and he studied that sport for about two years. Inspired by the Bruce Lee phenomenon, Fischer joined a Shaolin Kung Fu school when he was eight. For the next several years he studied Jeet Kune Do (the martial art invented by Bruce Lee), Muay Thai kickboxing and street fighting.
Fischer was introduced to Wing Tsun, a variation of Wing Chun that was created by Leung Ting, in 1990.
Training Under Keith Kernspecht
He moved to Heidelberg to study the art under the guidance of Grand Master K.R. Kernspecht at the famous Langenzell Castle. For five years, Fischer trained 8 hours a day, 7 days a week in Wing Tsun. Fischer has also trained under Master Edel, Master Schroen and many others.
Eventually, Fischer became manager of nine schools in Heidelberg with hundreds of students.
In addition, he worked as a doorman and offered bodyguard services. He worked with such martial artists as Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bob Wall.
In 1994 he was appointed as Chief Instructor and Representative of the Australian Escrima and Wing Tsun Organisation (AUEWTO) by Grandmaster Keith R. Kernspecht (European Chief Instructor) and Grandmaster Leung Ting (World Chief Instructor). (In 2007 the name of the company was changed to the Australian Wing Tsun Network Pty Ltd (AWTN)).
The Move to Australia
Fischer settled in Australia permanently in 1997 and founded the WingTsun Australia headquarters in Randwick, a suburb of Sydney.
