Stefan Beese

Stefan Beese (born October 28, 1969) is a German production designer and architect. He emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1999, where he founded the firm Beesign in Los Angeles.
Biography
Early life and education
He is a certified member of the German Chamber of Handicrafts, after a three-year apprenticeship as a carpenter in 1989.
Graduated from the Polytechnic of Art at Husum, Germany in 1992, with a Bachelor of fine art and design.
Studied Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts at Kiel, Germany from 1992 to 1995.
Studied Production Design and Interior Architecture at the University of Design and Media in Hanover, Germany from 1995 to 1999
Career
Mr. Beese's extensive training in Interior Architecture and Production Design led to his forming the company Beesign-production design in 1995. Mr. Beese has done production design for feature films, TV and commercials as well as having designed shows, fairs, exhibitions and sets for stage and screen in Europe and the United States.
Beese opened his Los Angeles branch of Beesign in 2000, and served as Production Designer on films such as Asylum Days (2001), Purple Heart (2005), Hollywood Dot Com (2007), The Great Commission (2003), The Trial (2002), Fear Within (2004) and Natural Selection (2003). His client list includes NBCUniversal, Syfy, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Sony, Showtime and WDR Cologne.
Beese served in 2007 as the Executive Producer on the Make It Right "Pink Project" in collaboration with Brad Pitt and Graft Architects.
Stefan Beese produced a new main stage face-lift and overall production design for the New Orleans
Essence Music Festival in 2008. His Stage Design for the 2009 Essence Music Festival earned him the Live Design Excellence and Music Design Award in 2009.
Since 2008 Beese has been the Production Designer for the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans, LA, for which he began curating large-scale, site-specific art installations. Two of his own installations, The Passage and the , have become fixtures at Voodoo. The Eco Container Lounge earned him the Live Design Excellence Award in 2011.
In 2012 and 2013 Beese served as Production Designer for the H2O Music Festival Series produced by Hispanic Television and Radio Network Univision.
In 2012, five years after producing the Pink Project in collaboration with GRAFT, Beese served as the Production Designer for Brad Pitt’s “A Night to Make It Right” fundraising gala in New Orleans, which raised over $5 million to support its mission to build safe, affordable, and sustainable homes in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward.
