Stab Proof Scarecrows is a memoir by Lance Manley. It describes a trainee's impression of policing in the United Kingdom. Stab Proof Scarecrows was published in December 2009 by Troubador Publishing Ltd. under the Matador Books imprint. Lance Manley is a former Special Constable in the City of London Police who was on duty on during the aftermath of the July 7th terrorist attacks in central London. He also served in a second Police Force as a Regular Police Constable (paid, full time officer). This Force remains unnamed. The book has been described as "anti police but pro police officer" and is dedicated to murdered Manchester Goth Sophie Lancaster.
