St. Thomas Orthodox Church Vellukutta

St. Thomas Orthodox Church Vellukutta is a church located between Puthuppally Pally in South and Manarkadu Pally in South. The southern altar of the church is in the name St. George and the northern altar is in the name of St. Mary.
History
Consecrated by HH Kurikose Mar Gregorius of Pampady on June 20th 1932, the initial church was build at where the current church graveyard is situated. Rev. Paret Mathews( H.H Mathews Mar Ivanious) was the first priest and his efforts and support was great in building the church in a short time.
The Current church was consecrated in 1970 and an extension to it was consecrated in 2000.
Festivals
The church has three shrines: Kanjirthamoodu in the name of St. Gregrious of Parumala, Payyappaddy in the name of H.H. Kuriakose Mar Gregorious and Kochumattam in the Name of St. Mary. The church's main festival is celebrated on February 1st and 2nd (Mayaltho) where a procession from Kochumattam to Kanjirathomoodu is conducted with thousands of people attending it every year.
The parish also celebrates the Dukharono of St. Thomas on July and Feast of St. Mary on September 8th.
