Sri Karunamayi

Amma Sri Karunamayi is a Hindu holy leader known worldwide for her mission of peace. Every year, Sri Karunamayi tours the globe teaching meditation. In India, she has founded numerous programs to help the rural poor and disenfranchised, including two free elementary schools, a free college, a free hospital, mobile medical clinics, emergency relief programs, food and clothing donations, and free housing for thousands of people who had been dispossessed of their land. Amma Sri Karunamayi is also featured in her weekly television program, which airs in India (as well as worldwide via satellite) on Gemini TV. Her work has brought her formal commendations from Ohio Governor, Bob Taft, as well as from the US cities of Atlanta, Boulder, Denver, Pearland, Redondo Beach, and Los Angeles County, among others. |
